Missions Conference

This year’s missions conference is a celebration of our month-long experience in service. We encourage you to attend one or all of these interactive, learning adventures in missions and to get excited about what God is doing to grow his Kingdom in our community and around the world.

Saturday, October 11
8:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.
Family Walk/Run

Join us for an Olympics-style walk/run around the church campus which is approximately 1 mile. (Register at 8:00 a.m.; walk/run begins at 8:30 a.m.)

Festival at the Loft

Immediately following the run, be sure to visit our international missions festival at The Loft. Have your Missions Passport stamped at over a dozen fun and informative booths and learn more about genuine needs (world hunger, clean water, good health, telling the gospel message) around the world and how TWUMC is helping to meet those needs.

Missions Luncheon

Men and women alike will enjoy our annual Missions Luncheon. Guest speakers are TWUMC member Brooke Burns, now working with at-risk children for The Mission Society in Costa Rica; and Steve Bryan, Dean of Studies at the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology. Tickets are available at the Information Center and Grace Point Bookstore for $7.00.

Sunday, October 12
Coffee Houses for Missions 9:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.

All are invited to visit one of our Coffee Houses which will feature missionary guests who are serving in a variety of interesting ways both locally and around the world. You are cordially invited to sit in on one of these sessions to learn more about their work. Please join us for a cup of coffee and be challenged by a missions message. Times and locations are available here.

Worship in the Robb Chapel 8:30 a.m. & 9:35 a.m.
Open Doors ministry supports the persecuted church… building their courage, meeting their needs, sharing their stories and championing their faith. Jim Teall from Open Doors, will be preaching.

Worship at Harvest and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
Mission Waco founder and executive director, Dr. Jimmy Dorrell is the keynote speaker. Dr. Dorrell has been involved in incarnational ministry among the poor and bringing the “good news” to men and women in the inner-city of Waco through relationships and empowerment opportunities for nearly 30 years. You will be blessed by his message of compassion and transformation.
